Being a single mother and trying to finish up my master's degree, I worked as a CNA and immediately fell in love with taking care of patients. I love my job as the Administrator; nothing brings me more joy than knowing that my residents are well cared for.

Why do you love what you do?

I love taking care of people and providing love, compassion, and respect to my patients.

My staff— we wouldn't be the facility we are now without them. They deliver the best quality care to our residents. Here, we are family.

How did you get into healthcare?

My husband was diagnosed with autoimmune disease. I felt I could make a difference in other patients' lives, so I decided to enroll in nursing school.

Why do you love what you do?

I love being able to make a difference in someone's day.

How did you get into healthcare?

My mother got me a temporary position as a nursing scheduler at her facility. Once I started, I felt comfortable in the healthcare environment, so I continued learning other departments. I've worked my way to Admissions Director and after 25 years, I still enjoy my job!

Why do you love what you do?

The residents, the staff and the community. You can learn so much about a person by just listening to them and showing compassion and empathy.

The people here make it fun, challenging and exciting. You never know what a day will bring, but you know that the team will make a difference.

My mom was a nurse and worked in hospitals. I initially went into home-care, then hospice care as a social worker. I then transitioned into marketing.

Why do you love what you do?

The interpersonal relationships and trust that you build are excellent. Healthcare is a small community and fosters relationships that last a lifetime.

How did you get into healthcare?

Before I worked in long term care, I knew I wanted to help others and spent several years working with children or adolescents with disabilities.

Why do you love what you do?

I love bringing quality of life to my residents, making their days a little bit brighter. The best part of my job is it allows me to be creative while also delivering what the residents need.

I became a registered nurse in 1999 after many years of caring for my parents and other family members.

I like working in long-term care because of the relationships you can create with the residents. The field of healthcare, in particular, is ever-challenging and changing, and I find that exciting.

I enjoy talking with residents and learning from them. Most of our residents have lived on this earth for a long time and are very vibrant people who have experienced many hardships and triumphs throughout their lives. It is an honor to smile and laugh alongside them.
